Alochrome

Alocroming, also known as alodining and chromating, is a process that will not only provide a corrosion-resistant protective coating, but will also serve as an excellent primer for powder coating.

Although pure aluminium oxidises with the air to produce its own protective coating, untreated alloys of aluminium offer little protection against corrosion, requiring a protective coating provided by processes such as alochroming or anodising.

Alochromed parts also retain their electrical conductivity to excellent degrees, and the process adds no weight to a component, and does not alter its pre-process dimensions.

In addition to its corrosion resistant protection, the alocrom film will also repair itself if scratched, and marks such as fingerprints can be wiped off.

Alocromed parts also become hydrophobic as they age, providing excellent protection against water and moisture.
